Former India hockey captain Ashok Kumar, who is son of legendary Major Dhyanchand, legendary middle-distance runner Sriram Singh Shekhawat, who holds national record of 1:45.77 in 800m since 1976, and former India volleyball skipper Suresh Mishra all voiced constant sentiment.

"The dignity should be maintained. Why does one got to offer Arjuna per annum. Is it necessary? we have a tendency to area unit currently throwing the awards away," Ashok said.
