Losing the one day series after the Test, then the captain of the two matches and now the Sri Lankan star batsman is out of the injuryIn the third ODI against India, Sri Lankan batsman Dinesh Chandimal was injured in thumb during batting, due to which he has been out of the remaining two games in the ODI series. It may be recalled that in the third match of the five-match One-day series, India has made an unbeatable 3-0 lead by defeating Sri Lanka by six wickets.

Sri Lanka Cricket released a media release saying, "Sri Lanka Cricket has made it clear that Test captain Dinesh Chandimal has gone out of the remaining series due to the Hairline fracture in his right thumb." The Sri Lankan Cricket Board In a statement, Chandimal said that Chandimal would show his injury to an expert in Colombo.

In the third ODI, Chandimal was on 25 at the time when he was hit on his right thumb while facing Hardik Pandya's ball. However he continued to bat. In this case, he was caught at the hands of Jasprit Bumrah at the score of 36 on Hardik.

In this tour against India, Chandimal is not the only batsman of the Sri Lankan team who has been injured. Even before that, Sucha Gouertetne and Nuwan Pradeep were unable to represent their team due to injuries.
